Another big grand-slam event is taking place in snooker competition from the month of February. John Higgins is the defending champion of Welsh open , last he defeated Ben Woollaston in the final with the score 9-3 . The total prize fund that is added to the Welsh open is (£324,000) there 14% increase in the prize money last year it is (£300,000). The runner-up who lost the final from the winner of the competition will received the (£30,000) from the event . £20,000 will distributed among the players who lost the semi final and £10,000 will be given to the quarter finalists.
